Junior Stableford, Sun 8 March

On a very windy day, with heavy rain, 9 juniors braved the elements in the opening event of the Junior Order of Merit. County Under 14's player, Will Thorne, fared best, as he shot a very creditable 32 points over the 17 holes, winning by one from Todd Radford, playing in his last event as a Junior, having now turned 18. In Division 2, young Chris Tancock scored 25 points to take the winner's prize. (See Results on junior golf competitions.html)

Junior Medal, Sun 12 April

The Juniors were out again on Easter Sunday for their 2nd Order of Merit event. More excellent scoring saw handicaps falling again prior to the first Junior South Devon League fixture here at the Warren on Wednesday. Junior Captain George Horsham fired an excellent 73 gross, net 64 to take victory, ahead of the in-form Will Thorne and Tom Davies.

Junior Medal, Sun 24 May

A poor turnout for this event saw just two players competing. Martin Hitchcock beat George Horsham in difficult conditions.

Adult / Junior Foursomes, Sun 21 June

The annual Adult / Junior Foursomes was played in beautiful conditions on Sunday. With tricky pin placements left over from Captain's Day, scoring was good without being spectacular. "Little and Large" picked up the victory as 6'8 Martin Breading partnered 5'2 Oliver Cowl to 38 points, two ahead of Ben Harding and George Horsham, with three other pairs on 34 points.

Junior Club Championship, Fri 28 August

Friday’s Junior Club Championship saw a mix of low handicap regulars, combined with several new young members. Playing in extremely strong winds, along with heavy showers, there were some excellent scores, most notably from the new champion, Sandy Urquhart, who followed a solid 76 with a superb 68 gross, to pip Jordan Maloney by one shot. Jordan had the consolation of winning the handicap prize with his 76 points, two ahead of Jake Brock, who was playing in his first ever competition. Jake’s 42 points in the afternoon was the best net score of the day – a great start to his golf career!

Junior Stableford, Sun 20 September

The final Junior Order of Merit event of the year was played on Sunday. Going into the event, three players, Will Thorne, George Horsham and Jordan Maloney were in contention to win the title. Will’s 3rd place on the day was good enough to see him hold on for the OOM, while Jake Brock, in just his 2nd ever competition, recorded an exceptional 42 points to take the victory on the day from Jake Pennington.

Junior Ladder (sponsored by Morris & McGinn)

The Junior Ladder, sponsored by Morris & McGinn, was supported well by several of the Juniors over the summer. In an up-and-down battle, George Horsham emerged as the top player, with Jordan Maloney just behind. Congratulations to both of them, and also Will Thorne and Martin Hitchcock, who made it a very exciting competition throughout.

Junior Open

Wednesday 8th April saw the ‘main event’ of the week – the Warren Junior Open. Over 70 juniors from as far afield as Bristol gathered on a fine sunny day, and took on the links course. Best scratch score of the day came from Hele Park’s Alexis Lopez, shooting a superb 70 gross off his 12 handicap! Following him were Ryan Pope (Exeter) and Sam Sloman (Taunton & Pickeridge) with 73. The four handicap divisions saw some further amazing scores – in Division 4 (29+ hcp) Warren junior Jamie Pickering shot a blistering net 55, while his brother, Daniel, shot a net 59 to win his division. Tom Watkins, from Yelverton took the 13-18 hcp category, while in-form Warren junior, Will Thorne, took the low handicap division. To complete the day, Chloe Pickering, made it a clean sweep for the family, taking the girls prize.
